COmmunity Education and activities

  • West Side Community Organization (WSCO)-serves as the district planning council as well as having numerous initiatives to engage community members. Check out their newest initiative, the equitable scorecard, for more information on West Side development, and to share your views.

  • Neighborhood House- provides a wide array of services to West Side residents including early childhood education, adult education, English classes, youth leadership, college access and readiness, and food support, among other services.

  • El Rio Vista- An activity center providing many activities and services to residents including a fitness center, kids, adult, and senior fitness classes, and field rentals. Check out their website for a full list of activities and schedules

  • Riverview Library- West Side's local library offering a variety of activities including free summer meals, a homework center, and a book club

 

Financial literacy, home stability, and financial counseling

  • Neighborhood Development Alliance- provides financial literacy, home ownership counseling, and Home Stretch courses. Services in English and en Español.

  • African Economic Development Center- provides credit building and loan access, Home Stretch courses, and small buisness consulting. Services available in Somali.

  • Home Line- provides legal advice to help tenants facing eviction, having trouble staying in their home or problems with property management. Services available in English, Spanish, and Somali.

 

City and Health resources

  • St. Paul City Government- Villa del Sol is located in Ward 2 of St. Paul. This site provides information on current road construction and parking, city plans, and the parks and recreation department.

  • SNAP food assistance program and support at 651-266-4444 or 651-266-3800 for translation services. Apply for SNAP food assistance here.

  • West Side Community Health Services- Comprehensive care for all West Side Residents. Call (651) 602-7500 to make an appointment.
